Showering those affirmations!!!

Updated: Oct 23, 2022

I used to think affirmations were a load of rubbish, until I actually started studying them & using them correctly. Many of you might know I am a master practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming, which is basically the language of our minds. It is a coaching modality that speaks & creates change at an unconscious level.

The unconscious mind is the driver of 90% of our behaviours & why we do what we do. It is the part of the mind we want on our side.

The unconscious mind stores our belief system, values, emotions, reactions, imagination & intuition.

The unconscious mind is ALWAYS listening & acting on this.

The unconscious mind does not know the difference between what is imagined & what is made up.

So by speaking in a positive way to the unconscious, we can create change that lasts.

How to use affirmations?

Lets talk about the science behind them, now as we know the unconscious mind is always listening & is always taking what we think as truth. So to change in the UCM we need to repeat what we want.

Affirmation (or mantra)

At some point a shift will start to happen - the unconscious mind will start to listen and form a new neural pathway with this new belief. Creating long-term changes to the ways that you think and feel.

Affirmations are a conscious act that will eventually make its way into the unconscious by repetition.

So I have created an affirmation shower, literally! So when you wake, start you affirmation in your mind - make it positive and in the present moment.

I am safe to relax.

I deserve my life.

I am good enough.

I accept and love myself.

Today will be a good day.

Keep this going in your mind as you shower, brush your teeth, drink your coffee and get ready. I attempt an hour every morning. It is something you can do when others are there, when driving, when working out........ it doesn't have to be sitting and meditating.

Actually it is a proven fact that by habit stacking, example doing it whilst you already do a habit - like drinking your coffee or showering, it makes it so much easier.

Start small and increase the timings as you go.

I invite you to have a go of this just for a few days and see how things feel different?

Light & love,

Amanda
